Already have mobile device management?

Truth is, many of our customers already have an MDM solution in place but find it’s necessary to deploy Apperian as well in order to solve all of their enterprise mobility management needs. There are 3 common ways that Apperian works alongside the existing MDM:

Apperian to Securely Reach Devices that Can’t be Enrolled in MDM

Mobile device management requires users to install a management profile on their device. While this may work for corporate-owned and managed devices, it can be problematic for BYOD users and workers in the extended enterprise, such as contractors and dealers. In those cases, users do not want to enroll their devices in MDM, or their contracts do not allow the organization to manage their devices.

In order to reach those BYOD and extended enterprise users, Apperian is put in place alongside an existing MDM system in order to reach 100% of the users who need critical mobile apps. That way MDM manages the device and distributes apps to the corporate-owned devices, while Apperian securely distributes and manages the apps for BYOD and extended enterprise users.

Apperian Policy-Enabled Apps via existing App Store

Mobile device management does a great job of locking down the device, controlling device features, limiting app downloads, enforcing the use of specific browsers and mandating the use of pins/passwords on the device itself. When it comes to mobile security, MDM is only one layer. To add necessary security at the app and data level, companies look to Apperian. The result is apps that have additional and critical layers of app security – for both managed and unmanaged users.

Apperian provides a rich set of mobile app security polices which can be individually applied to any mobile app including Data-at-Rest (DAR) Encryption, App-Level VPN, Jailbreak and Root Protection, Data Wipe, App Expiration and more. Organizations leverage Apperian to inject these capabilities into their mobile apps to protect sensitive or regulated corporate data. IT operations can then deploy those secure apps via their existing MDM app store to users with both managed and unmanaged devices.

Apperian App Management Across Multi-MDM Deployments

Many organizations have multiple MDM vendors that support different work groups. For example a different product managing different company divisions or an organization needing to reach users in different public sector agencies with devices under management by different systems. When deploying mobile apps across multiple organizations with more than one MDM solution in place, Apperian’s administrator console serves as the system of record for apps. This enables administrators to onboard apps, secure them with management and usage policies, and distribute them to all devices across the different organizations.

Apperian provides a consistent, organization-wide, branded user experience for all users across multiple MDMs. Users are able to access mobile apps via a private, branded, enterprise app store, regardless of which MDM solution is installed on their device. The app store has a consumer grade experience, with the intuitive look and feel of the Apple App Store and Google Play, making it easy for users to find and download the apps that make them more productive. Apperian’s solution works with all the major mobile device management solutions including IBM, Citrix, Microsoft, MobileIron, Airwatch and more.
